The 2017/18 year was filled with growth. We added Chinese 1B for middle school with Columbia Public Schools and grew our high school student numbers. We hosted more than 30 events to share Chinese culture with local schools and the community. The Confucius Institute enjoyed a great year in 2016/17. We celebrated our fifth anniversary with two Kaleidoscopic Shanghai performances, along with more than 30 other events reaching over 20,000 participants. We continued our partnership with Columbia Public Schools and added Chinese 1a to our course offerings. Our team of nine great volunteers, two visiting professors and full-time staff grew together and learned from each other.
