Martial arts classes

These exercises have excellent health benefits for relieving stress, improving balance, making joints healthier and strengthening the body. All classes are free and open to the public.

Beginner Tai Chi

This class is held noon–1 p.m. Tuesdays at the Unity Center of Columbia, 1600 W. Broadway. We will practice Yang Style 24-form tai chi.

Intermediate Tai Chi

This class is held from noon–1 p.m. Thursdays in 2-10 Agriculture Building, on the corner of Hitt and Rollins streets, or in Peace Park in fair weather. We will practice Yang Style 24-form tai chi.

Tai Chi Fan

Partners practice Tai Chi in a shaded, grassy park.This class is held 4–5 p.m. Tuesdays at the Unity Center of Columbia, 1600 W. Broadway. We will practice Yang Style 36-form tai chi fan.

Health Qi Gong

This class is held 4–5 p.m. Thursdays at the Unity Center of Columbia, 1600 W. Broadway. We will practice the 12 Duan Gin exercise form of health qigong. Please bring a mat from home.
