On Feb. 21, the local Girl Scout troop at Parkade Baptist Church invited the MU Confucius Institute as guest speakers. About 20 girls, from 6 to 14 years old, came and experienced Chinese culture with their teachers.

This year, our planned celebration had to be rescheduled due to a snow storm. When we gathered on the following Tuesday, 55 people came to enjoy the party with their family.

On Feb. 9, Professor YANG Wenfang was invited as a guest speaker for the Missouri Epsilon Sigma Alpha meeting at Holiday Inn Express and Suites. About 60 members attended the lovely and informative presentation on Tai Chi.

The fourth annual Chinese New Year Showcase was held at the Missouri Theatre on Feb. 1. About 100 local students who learn Chinese in Columbia Public Schools took part.
The Chinese Spring Festival Gala was held at the Missouri Theatre on Sunday, Feb. 3, 2019. It was jointly organized by four organizations: MU Chinese Students and Scholars Association, MU Confucius Institute), Columbia Friends of China and Mid-Missouri Chinese Association.
